Douce et fine dans sa robe moirée, Méludine traversait la forêt. Parmi les bambous et les palmiers à fruits, Méludine rêvait à l'infini. Dans son coeur toute la journée, cette chanson qui sonnait. Portée par une brise de légèreté, sans penser à rien elle fredonnait.
Au détour du bois d'avocatier, derrière le manguier, Méludine soudain s'est arrêtée. Là, dans le ruisseau qui s'écoulait au fond, des trombones jouaient à l'unisson. Son corps se mit à vibrer. Sa tête s'emplit d'idée. Elle avait trouvé pour sa chanson, d'un seul coup, toute l'orchestration.
On dit qu'un battement de papillon peut modifier toute une situation. Méludine à ce moment s'est réveillée: c'était son Papa qui l'appelait! Elle aimait tellement le vent, la pluie sur les fleurs des champs. Blottie dans ses bras, elle se souvenait d'avoir rêver d'être une libellule en liberté...
